Another one of those that provided some of the musical background to our lives taken away
– Kinda rekindling good memories
– Kinda reminding us of our own mortality
Well, I guess he’s not so Fresh now. Not my fave type of music but they were so prevalent back then they were a part of my youth. I guess you could say I appreciated them. Now more than then.

What, we aren’t doing that anymore?
Summer Madness revised rendition, if you dig smooth jazz.
Sure brings back memories growing up. 😉
RIP Dennis
Thoughts and Prayers to your loved ones. 🕊❤🙏
Kool and the Gang “Wild and Peaceful” was the first 8-track I ever bought with money from my first paycheck.
Still love that album
How could anyone not be happy in their 20’s dancing and singing along with Kool and the Gang?! Everyone disparages disco, but we sure had a lot of fun with all that toe tapping music out on the dance floor, didn’t we? Lot’s of wedding reception memories with Kool and the Gang.
My first experience with their music was Friday nights at the roller-skating rink.
I tried smoking my first sig back then.
Thought I was cool!
Good times!
“Celebration” saturated the airwaves. My elder son asked me why every station played it all the time.
RIP
The one things that really bugs me is all the churches that turned their song Celebration into a worship song in the 90’s. It annoys the snot out of me. It does not belong in any church ever, worship songs are meant to glorify God, their song celebrates nothing but mediocrity and I can’t stand it
No celebrating Good times in your church, huh Geoff?
Motown of then beats the hell out of crap of today, like WAP, in my humble opinion.
He definitely wrote some floor-packers. RIP fellow traveler.
