American Thinker:

It’s never a good thing when locals warn you to stay out of their crime-infested city.
When it’s the police themselves, well, then it’s pretty obvious the city has a problem.
Which has brought us this:
The Los Angeles police are telling the public not to come into the area for Christmas because it’s like “The Purge” movie.
LAPD Detective Jamie McBride recently told media, “My [message] to anybody considering coming to Los Angeles is ‘Don’t,’ he said. “We can’t guarantee your safety. It is really, really out of control […] It’s like that movie ‘Purge’ [sic]. Instead of 24 hours to commit your crime, these bad people have 365 days to commit whatever they want.”
Don’t have to urge me not to go to LA. There’s nothing down there that I want to see. Goes for San Francisco Bay Area as well and a thousand other cities across America. I don’t care where you live, you’ve got your share of it as well. /just saying
The police can never guarantee your safety. They come after the fact, take a report clean up the mess and move on unless there’s a noose involved.
I wonder if Randy Newman still lives there. 1984 seems like a hundred years ago, don’t it, Randy? But even you must have seen it coming. Although you probably thought the Republicans would bring it.
“Look at that mountain
Look at those trees
Look at that bum over there, man
He’s down on his knees…”

I escaped from L.A. 10 years ago. They wouldn’t have such a bad crime problem if they would allow the citizens to carry firearms for protection from the criminals, but the left never learns.
Like we need him to tell us that.
I was going to drive from Phoenix to NorCal for Christmas. I couldn’t make the drive in one day anymore. I decided against it, because having an out-of-state license plate at a hotel would be inviting a smash-and-grab. Not exactly what I wanted for Christmas. I found a decent airfare, and flying first class would be about the same price as gas for the car. No risk of robbery either.
