Ars Technica reports that Apple has found itself embroiled in a legal battle as more than three dozen victims unite in a class action lawsuit, alleging that the company’s AirTags have morphed into a “weapon of choice” for stalkers. The lawsuit, which has garnered the participation of victims allegedly terrorized by the misuse of this technology, has gathered a growing number of plaintiffs joining the cause. more here

  1. It isn’t new technology. RF locator tags have been around for decades. Apple’s tags incorporate smaller size, longer battery life, ease and convenience of use, lower price, better availability, and savvier marketing. It will be interesting to see how the court cases shake out.

  2. I have heard stories of thieves using them to track classic cars after car shows and then casing out the cars that are put in off-site storage and eventually stealing them.

  3. AirTags is just a tool, not good or bad in itself, to be used or abused.
    Same as with guns. Think of all the upset, lawsuits, and proposed gun control laws whenever a gun is used in a mass shooting.
    It’s not the tool, it’s the user.
    I hope Apple wins this one against the LibTards.
