EveryJoe: So-called leaked audio (which you can hear below) from a private Hillary Clinton fundraiser has revealed that she hold several controversial beliefs that she certainly does not air on the campaign trail. If Clinton is elected president, she will use her executive authority to hound the massively influential National Rifle Association. She believes that the Supreme Court has a flawed understanding of the constitutional right to bear arms.
The Washington Free Beacon managed to obtain audio footage from the event, which was held at the home of Geraldine Ferraro’s son John Zaccaro, a convicted felon turned political fundraiser. In it, Clinton reaffirmed her belief that assault weapons should be flat-out banned for private use, but made the surprising claim that she would take on the Supreme Court, which has sided with gun owners in a variety of landmark cases.
“I was proud when my husband took [the National Rifle Association] on, and we were able to ban assault weapons, but he had to put a sunset on so 10 years later. Of course [President George W.] Bush wouldn’t agree to reinstate them,” Clinton can be heard saying. “We’ve got to go after this, and here again, the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment. And I am going to make that case every chance I get.”
