Lech Walesa, the former shipyard worker who famously helped bring down Communism in his native Poland in the 1980s has made his thoughts on the Europe migration crisis and religious beheadings clear in a remarkably frank interview.
Speaking to the Jerusalem Post, the former president of Poland, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and human rights activist said he sympathised with people in Europe who expressed concern about mass migration. Yet his forthright views left even the usually unflappable broadsheet pre-emptively apologising for his words, calling his views “simplistic”and the man himself an “enfant terrible… a conservative homophobe”.
Responding to a question on the “humanitarian crisis” presently engulfing Europe, Walesa told the Post:
“I understand why Poland and Europe fear their influx. They arrive from places where people are beheaded. We are worried that the same will happen to us.
“We in Poland have small flats, low salaries and meagre pensions. Watching the refugees on television, I noticed that they look better than us. They are well fed, well dressed and maybe even are richer than we are. more
Sounds pretty damn reasonable to me.

Years ago, in the late and revolutionary 60s, I spent time employed as a custodial engineer in a 55 story downtown office building in Chicago. At the time my politics were left of Sanders. The majority of my colleagues came from Eastern Europe, some had serial numbers tattooed on their forearms. Ukrainians, Polish, Russian and others. They all had in common the experience of “living” under either Hitler’s or Stalin’s wrath. Those guys and their families understood and were not at all shy about expressing their beliefs and opinions. A great education for me.

Now Lech let us not lose our heads over a peaceful invasion of Europe by the religion of peace. How bad can they be when B. Hussein, Lurch, Jarrett, Clinton and other mangy and assorted government mavens constantly praise their magnificent contributions to the world. So they have to sever a few heads now and then. A small price to pay to have them living among us and giving us the benefit of their enlightened laws and culture!

Walesa is one of my heroes. He and Reagan were leaders I admired when I was a young conservative. Still do.
Anyone else bracing themselves for the Pope’s interfaith service at the 9/11 site tomorrow? I’m expecting the worst kind of appeasement and denial re: the evil of Islam.
