Really El Dorado County Sheriff once advised my father, after a break in to call his son, me, to move the body inside should he shoot the thief in his front yard. And then call the sheriffs department. That was about 20 years ago. But nothings changed in this county.

Out here in rural end of the road America, we have only a few County Mounties who are patrolling a huge area. Thousands of square miles. Their response time in an emergency is very long unless they happen to be near your area. 45 minutes to hours.
