CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – The challenges lined themselves up from birth for Eric Strong. Born with congenital glaucoma, Strong’s mother always told him, “always expect the unexpected.”
So it was no surprise to him on Monday, to cross the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
Out of more than 25,000 runners to finish the 26.2 mile run, Strong finished somewhere around 7,000th place, but his placement wasn’t as important as simply accomplishing the feat.
“If you have something in your way, your job is to get around it if you want to get around it,” Strong said of his determination to not only complete the marathon, but to be able to run at all. more here
He just finished it??? It was like 3 days ago. I mean I know he’s blind, but 3 days to go 26 miles?
Three days? He just finished the 2017 Boston Marathon.
For his next trick, he’s going to become an NFL referee. Probably do a better job than half the referees now working
Ann… Ah

It was the asphalt reflectors that led him astray.
Big deal. We have a willfully blind attorney general.
Clayton Bigsby, could not be reached for comment.
What a surprise. I was just trying to cross the street.
I guess after three days and ten miles someone finally said “You finished, way to go…….”.
He needed a faster Guide Dog.
Now, now, article says he finished in the top third.
The real question is how many of those red and white sticks did he go through?
Just finished the Boston Marathon…
in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
Aw, come on! If I were him, I’d appreciate the humor!
But seriously, congrats to this exceptional man on his achievement. Wish we had more people like him in our country.
Real Americans celebrate and encourage this kind of success and mentality. Meanwhile the only thing the left cheers is a man pretending to be a woman winning against other women or some such silliness.
He would have finished faster, but he had his headphones on and went to Delaware.
In other news legally female men will be competing in the women’s event form here on out
