What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas—an old saying, right?
Well, what happened in Vegas this week was the alleged murder of a veteran investigative reporter by a corrupt elected official who had just lost his primary election.
Seems like a juicy story, right? Only one problem: The politician perp wasn’t a MAGA Republican. He was a Democrat.
And so, unless you keep up with Howie, Grace, Fox News or a few other conservative outlets, what happened in Vegas most surely would have stayed in Vegas.
Here are the basics: Robert Telles, the elected county public administrator of Clark County, Nevada, has been arrested and charged with murdering a 69-year-old investigative reporter for the Las Vegas Citizen-Journal, Jeff German.
When German was found stabbed to death, Telles was an obvious suspect. During Telles’ tenure in Clark County, German exposed, in these searing reports, Telles’ angry, intimidating and retaliatory demeanor towards his underlings in the office.
Sounds like a happy-go-lucky guy. In case you missed it the first time, Telles is a Democrat. But you wouldn’t know that from reading mainstream media.

They don’t have to, it’s a rote safe bet
It’s the street thug / prison (but I repeat myself) mentality: snitches get stitches.
The old rule of thumb, if a news story doesn’t give party affiliation in a negative story then you know the person is a Democrat.
OK. One reporter got murdered by a Democrat in Vegas. That’s a tragedy. No doubt.
But dozens got slaughtered in Vegas while attending a concert a few years back and we still don’t know much about that. Why not?
It’s the same as when the perp is black – no mention of race. But white? Shout it from the rooftops.
Anything that reflects on them and theirs must be protected at all costs, even truth, even honor. Those are nothing of consequence in the minds of the morally bankrupt.
But they know that those things matter enormously to us, so they use them as weapons against us, to infuriate us, to discourage us, and worst of all, to tempt us to fall down to their level. If they can topple the moral high ground, they win.
So they taunt us, using our own honor and faith against us. But stay huddled together on this high ground, even when we shake with fear and rage, and be strong for each other, because in the end God (and truth and honor and morality) wins.
When Eliot Spitzer got busted, my local paper (a Gannett rag) had 5 stories in 2 days, and not once was the word Democrat used.
