Changed my mind and decided to go ahead and post this here.
STORY TIME…
When moving my daughter into her first dorm room in college we met her black roommate and parents doing the same. The parents were both ex-IBM SE’s (system engineers) who gave up the corporate gig to follow a religious vocation. I was impressed. Smart people not DEI.
Anyway, it turned out this was the first time their daughter was free of any of their supervision or limitations. Immediately got in with the wrong crowd of hood rats. Brought into the dorm room her hookups of the evenings and had intercourse (bunkbeds) with my daughter in the room. Came home sufficiently drunk to literally shit the bed. Etc., etc., etc.
My daughter unofficially moved into another room with two white girls for sleeping purposes (on the floor) every night and eventually at end of first semester transferred to another college. College couldn’t do anything for fear of RACISM! Thanks Bradley University.
After college graduation and in nursing school, again living in a bad neighborhood. Thought Danville IL was a nice little farming community downstate and didn’t check to determine locations for safety. Apparently, they had moved a bunch down there from Shitcago when Cabrini Green and other CHA Housing were torn down.
Got lucky! Early on, she saved a dealer in seizure in front of her apartment building. Word was put out. NO ONE touches the little white girl. All the apartments except hers were burglarized in that building. Still, she did sleep with a 97 stoked with 00 buck under the bed.
Sad or maybe, correct? From HS through college her perception of blacks solidified in one direction. Clinicals in nursing school didn’t exactly improve things either.
