Ludicrous sexual harassment claims made against Tucker Carlson

American Thinker:

Two women — Jennifer Eckhart, who worked for Fox, and Cathy Areu, who was an occasional guest on Fox shows — filed a lawsuit in federal court accusing Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Howard Kurtz, Gianno Caldwell, and Ed Henry of a wide range of alleged sexual misconduct.  The accusations against Ed Henry, whom Fox fired earlier in July, are especially extreme, accusing him of a violent rape.  On the other side of the spectrum, the accusations against Carlson are ridiculous, and it’s these charges that are the subject of this post.

Superficially, Areu accuses Carlson of ordering his employees to restrain her in a chair so that he could solicit her for sex.  Then, when she rebuffed him, he dumped her as a guest.  When you get to the details, though, you realize that the charges against Carlson are ridiculous.

Areu alleges that she was a frequent guest on Carlson’s show, appearing at least 17 times in 2018.  Her last appearance was in December 2018.  After she completed her segment, she contends:

[O]ne of Mr. Carlson’s producers or writers whispered in Ms. Areu’s ear, while she was on set trying to get out of the chair, and told her that Mr. Carlson wanted her to stay under the very end of the show to chat with him.

The complaint implies that Areu desperately wanted to avoid this little chat but couldn’t.  Instead, she had “no choice” because she “was attached to the chair.”  Oh.  My.  God!  Carlson used bondage on the set to keep his guests trapped.

Well, not quite.  Areu had a microphone on her that ran through the chair and wore an earpiece “that the tech crew refused to take off.”  I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not conversant with the set for a TV news show, but I’m pretty sure that, if you really want to get away, you unclip the mic and remove the earpiece. 1. I think the chatter about Tucker running for president in the future has the liberals worried enough to make a preemptive strike. Latter they will claim as usual – he was accused!
Love Tucker, he pounds the left daily and they must hate him. I would vote for him any day.

  2. It’s not enough for the maggots to turn the channel (as they are so quick to tell us when we’re offended by blasphemy and perversion) they must destroy any voice with which they disagree. Carlson must, not only, be silenced, he must be punished.

He has deviated from “the Narrative” in a most objectionable way – with facts and truth to buttress his position!
He refuses to goose-step to the tin drum of totalitarianism.
His honesty, integrity, and probity are above reproach, so the nihilists must resort to salacious lies – and there are simply too many prostitutes who will lie (take your pick) for money.

  4. When ever Cathy Areu was on, it was all I could do to not throw things at the television. God, she more annoying than Jessica Turdloff. But not more annoying than Juan Williams!

  5. Don’t know what the Eckhart filing is all about, but re: Cathy, maybe he was just going to tell her about the changes to the show in the coming next year. And if he did ask her out for a beverage, this proves that men can no longer consider women ‘buddies’ (and that’s all) and meet up for a drink after work. Sad. Crazy, insecure women are ruining this for us all.

  6. Tucker had that flake Cathy Areu on for the specific purpose of letting the public see for themselves what an insane crackpot she was. She didn’t disappoint.
Personally, I found her physically repulsive as well as an idiot. I’ll wager Tucker did too.

  7. The #metoo movement has lost a lot of it’s power these days with all the gadflys moving to BLM so I think now may be the time to strike back hard against these accusations and their accusers. Don’t settle out of court, don’t accept an apology don’t appear conciliatory in any way. Counter sue her for slander and strip her of every asset she has and any she’s likely to get. Play time is over.

  8. Old Liberal-Socialist Agenda Playbook tactic.
When the messenger is a threat to the cause eliminate the Messenger.
Claim Sex, Drugs, moral issues etc etc. etc.

BTW: Once I saw the NYT was involved, the charges lost all credibility.
