Mad scientists at Stanford are proposing growing “spare” human bodies in artificial wombs to experiment on

Exposé:

Human “biological materials” are an essential commodity in medicine, and persistent shortages of these materials create a major bottleneck to progress.  The solution, according to those who have lost their humanity, is “ethically sourced” human bodies called “bodyoids” grown in artificial wombs.

“Recent advances in biotechnology now provide a pathway to producing living human bodies without the neural components that allow us to think, be aware, or feel pain. Many will find this possibility disturbing, but if researchers and policymakers can find a way to pull these technologies together, we may one day be able to create ‘spare’ bodies, both human and nonhuman,” researchers at Stanford University, who are attempting to sell their idea to a wider audience, wrote in MIT Technology Review.

Adding, “There are still many technical roadblocks to achieving this vision, but we have reason to expect that bodyoids could radically transform biomedical research by addressing critical limitations in the current models of research, drug development and medicine. Among many other benefits, they would offer an almost unlimited source of organs, tissues and cells for use in transplantation.”

The “scientists” suggested that bodyoids could even be used for food. more

  1. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley was far more dystopic than 1984 by George Orwell. Huxley pretty much described this kind of inhuman activity in his book along with SOMA, sex with anybody and anything, bread and circuses to distract people and permanent erasure of your existence after you die like you never even existed. I am still and always will be John the barbarian fighting these evil bastards until my dying breath. Without God as the rock of our salvation and our very existence this is where we will always end up when man tries to pretend that he is a god.

  2. Never Let Me Go by Kazuro Ishiguro addressed this. Both the book and movie are heartbreaking. A cruise ship comedian was discussing bathing suits and he opined “Ladies, just because you can doesn’t mean you should”. Wise advice to heed.

Envy is recognized as a cardinal virtue by the bastards. They believe that God unjustly occupies their rightful place in the grand scheme of things. Some of them believe they are individually entitled to God’s place and some of them collectively believe that, but all of them believe it.

  4. Anon – had my mother “direct cremated.” Not only did I see her body before the cremation, I actually helped push the box into the chamber and started the cycle on the computer. THAT is how you make sure that wishes are being carried out.

  5. My first Q. Everybody’s DNA is different, so how can they plug in a spare part with a different DNA than the recipient? It’ll be rejected.

Another bunch of Dr. Frankensteins dreaming about that Nobel Prize in Biological Research.

And then using the body parts for food? God, please stop them.

  6. Early versions will be plagued by defects until it is discovered that a nervous system is required. Not just nerves but a brain, too. You saw that movie already.

  7. I wrote this here once before but here it is again:

    Parent a child/fetus
    Partial birth abortion
transplant organ(s) into immuno-suppresssed baby pig
feed pig large amounts of growth hormones
    pig grows rapidly
    harvest/transplant organ(s) into original parent
no need for immuno-suppression for rejection, as DNA’s match
might even be going on now

They should start with the DNA from lawyers¹ (preferably Dem lawyers), so that the experimenters don’t develop any emotional attachment to their subjects like they do with rats.

    1. I apologize to the good lawyers out there. I know that it’s tough when 97% of your colleagues give the rest of you a bad name.

  9. This reads like one of those papers that get submitted to show that no one is actually reading them. But since we’re in the transing kids era of human existence, I don’t the academic community even blinks an eye over running experiments on human clones or engaging factory farm cannibalism.
