A group of orthopedic surgeons in Sarasota, Florida is suing HCA and its surgical center alleging monopolistic behavior in the Sarasota market.

Well, this hits close to home! I’ve had two major surgical procedures and several minor ones by Kennedy-White doctors, and some of them performed at Doctors Same Day. On top of that the “White” in “Kennedy-White” is a family friend. I’ll have to grill him on what’s going on (from his perspective) next time I see him.
BTW, I’ve got no complaints at all about the care and attention from the people at Docs Same Day, but I’ve never bumped into the way they do the business stuff.
After the lies of COVID, doctors can’t be trusted either…..
HCA has recently started popping up in the Daytona Beach-Orlando area, buying existing hospitals and re-branding them. Advent Health is also huge around here.
