Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Neighbor’s House After Tennessee Beat Alabama

Breitbart:

A Florence, Alabama, man was arrested for allegedly shooting his neighbor’s house after the University of Tennessee Volunteers beat the Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday night.

WAFF reports that Ricky Franks, Jr., allegedly got into a verbal altercation over the game with his neighbor, then went home, grabbed a shotgun, and fired at his neighbor’s house.

The shot allegedly hit the house.

KKTV notes that officers arrested Franks without incident and he was released from jail on a $30,000 bond.

AL.com indicates Franks was “charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied building.”

Alabama lost by a score of 52-49.

  1. I live 17 miles from UT. Yeah the people around here needed that win. Whatever you think of college football or the rabid fans it creates… There is some good that comes of it.

  2. ^ Talk about “rabid fans.” This first, unrestricted year after COVID is crazy in college football! The stadiums are packed with people dressed in their school’s colors, chanting, singing, dancing, cheering and going completely crazy. On TV, it looks like a form of mania has hit the population. At some schools, I notice the student bodies have taken to constant, annoying singing/chanting – à la soccer games. Shuuuuut up, already!

And what I notice the most is the rate at which the players try to get away with cheating (holding, pass interference, head shots and collar tackles) and ridiculous celebrations after they “make a play.” I guess it’s the way the kids are taught the game now. I hate it.
