  1. How utterly awful. I hope it was quick for him but I fear it wasn’t.

I make light-hearted and snarky comments on a lot of articles, but not this one.
This is 100% serious and horrible, 0% anything else.

  2. May the Lord bless and comfort his family in their time of desperate need, and may He touch those who tried to rescue the man and bless them with the ability for forget what they have seen.

Do not get complacent on the job.

    Familiarity kills.

  3. Years ago I was on squad call. Southbound motorhome driver had a heart attack. Cross the highway to the opposite shoulder, and struck a state truck patching holes in the highway. The guy behind the truck didn’t see it coming. It pushed the state truck backwards over him. On a small town rescue squad it’s common to have a non-EMT driver. The driver shocked out when we drove up on the scene, he walked around behind the rescue squad and just turned sheet white. I won’t describe the scene.
    Be grateful for every day.
