LifeNews: The verdict in a murder trial Friday involving an elderly British man accused of smothering his wife with a pillow raises concerning questions about the growing push to legalize assisted suicide across the world.
According to the Catholic News Agency, judges in Cyprus decided David Hunter, 75, is guilty of manslaughter, not murder, because his wife reportedly begged for his help to commit suicide.
Assisted suicide is illegal in Cyprus and England. Hunter is a British citizen who moved to Cyprus with his wife after they retired, according to the report. more
HMMMMM…
Considering this poor man lost his wife of 50 years, witnessed her suffering on a daily basis and obviously agonized over the most brutal decision he would ever have to make, I doubt he cares at all what the state wants to do to him.
Society is not enhanced by incarcerating him. Yes, the judge must try him as they are a country of laws, that has been done. Allow him whatever short time he has left with some peace.
He should have used the insanity plea. Yes, it was in the US, but the insanity plea recently worked with the idiot who beheaded his girlfriend…
I suppose this old guy isn’t the right color or doesn’t belong to the right religion…

I’m gonna leave this one alone.
This one hits close to home. You should see my gal the first couple+ hours after she’s up, usually around noon because back pain has kept her awake sometimes till dawn. She is in wicked bad pain until the little white pill kicks in.
She chides(kiddingly…kinda)me about how I better let her move on if and when she decides to.
Another fusion back surgery which is real iffy considering her bad bones or little white pills ain’t a good choice. Believe me, the bottom of a pillow can look very appealing to some.
