RTM: A man in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is helping neighbors keep their yards in good shape at no charge by using his lawn mower.
When 34-year-old Alex Wells decided to start knocking on doors and asking community members if they needed help, he was pleased with their reactions, Local 3 News reported Friday.
Wells has an eye for overgrown lawns and loves to mow them for free, which also makes residents happy.
“I’ll do the ones that haven’t been mowed in like a month or so but I try to find ones that haven’t been mowed in several months or sometimes a year,” he explained. more here
IRS wants to know if he’s reporting his unearned income…
I follow @iamrodneysmith on Twitter, he encourages kids around the country to sign up for he ’50 yard challenge’, and then drives around the country, mowing lawns and delivering T-shirts and mowers to kids who complete the challenge. A great feel-good buffer for all the politics in my feed.
Well at least we aren’t reading about Slingblade of the Senate Uncle Festermann…
What a heartless villain, trying to return lawn-mowing to kids. Doesn’t he care that he’s taking food from the mouths of hard-working Guatemalan men?
This is what tight-knit communities used to do, take care of their own.
Sadly, my first reaction was that in this debased infected shitty world we have devolved into, the indolent and unscrupulous will take advantage of this man’s generosity. I hope he doesn’t let that happen.
I mow 3 lawns that are not my own for free. Help others when you can. My parents showed me what good neighbors are/should be about.
My very elderly neighbors make me get up extra early because they try to beat me shoveling their snow.
I have to replace shovels occasionally, but this guy has fuel and equipment costs to bear. Bless his heart!
