Manchin to vote against bill federalizing elections, dealing major blow to Democrats

JustTheNews-

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V., declared Sunday he will oppose his party’s legislation to federalize how elections are conducted, dealing a severe blow to Democratic passage in the evenly divided Senate.

  1. Not to hijack the thread, but to hijack the thread… I see a ton of “Manchin flips” articles (which do not have a high accuracy rate) and NONE of the same in regard to Sinema. She’s not a reliable vote for the Dems in any way and is essentially their version of a typical RINO. I’ll never forget the SOTU address where she wore a different outfit when all the Dem women wore white, standing to clap when they remained seated. Nothing anyone would expect from a Code Pink, LMNOPQ-, kill-the-babies and save-the-owls type. She’s from McStain’s state, only she’s an actual Maverick. I think it’s telling in itself how no one anywhere wants to talk about her, including right wing media.

This is not to say I’m a cheerleader for her in any regard. Yet I bet there’s a story there if someone were brave enough to look into it.

  2. Ah, still months away from the lame duck Dec 2022 session where Manchin can insure his legacy by racking in a huge payoff and state he’s retiring after 2024.
Lots of time, lots of fraud, lots of ….

  3. Perhaps it will go down in flames for the time being. But, not to worry, the Democrats know how to play the long game. Down the road, you can be sure that they will try again.
