WT: National security leaker Chelsea Manning was reportedly hospitalized Tuesday from an apparent suicide attempt.
The former U.S. Army soldier, who is serving a 35-year sentence at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, was taken Tuesday to a local hospital near the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks, CNN reported.
U.S. Army spokesman Col. Patrick Seiber confirmed to CNN that Manning was taken to the hospital “during the early hours of July 5th” before returning to the barracks. The spokesman said that officials “continue to monitor the inmate’s condition.” MORE
