DAILY CALLER: Martha MacCallum will take over for Tucker Carlson during the 7 p.m. slot on Fox News.
Carlson’s new show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” is moving to the 9 p.m. EST slot after Megyn Kelly vacates it this Friday. She is leaving the network after 12 years for a position with NBC News.
MacCallum will replace Carlson during the 7 p.m. EST hour with a show called “The First 100 Days” where she will cover — you guessed it — the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency.
The network has not announced what will happen to the 7 p.m. slot after that.
“Martha MacCallum will take over for Carlson at 7PM/ET, kicking off primetime with a new news program entitled ‘The First 100 Days,’” the network said in a statement. “Based in New York, the show will chronicle the beginning of the new administration and run through President-elect Trump’s first 100 days in office.”
“Additionally, she will co-anchor the network’s Inauguration Day coverage on Friday, January 20th alongside Chief Political Anchor Bret Baier. MacCallum recently signed a multi-year deal to remain with FOX News.”
I don’t know much about Martha either. Watch here and Bill most mornings and I like her. She has always seemed a little more down to earth to me than the rest.
