McCaskill Lied About Missing Opioid Bill Vote – IOTW Report

McCaskill Lied About Missing Opioid Bill Vote

NTK: An explosive report by The Washington Post and CBS News’ “60 Minutes” on the opioid epidemic gripping the United States is rocking Washington, D.C.

On Tuesday, the congressman widely expected to serve as President Trump’s drug czar withdrew his name because a bill he sponsored made it harder for the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to do its job cracking down on opioid use.

That same day, the Post blasted Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) for claiming, during a CNN interview Monday, that she was not in the Senate to vote on that bill, which passed the Senate by unanimous consent.

“Now, I did not go along with this. I wasn’t here at the time. I was actually out getting breast cancer treatment. I don’t know that I would have objected. I like to believe I would have, but the bottom line is, once the DEA [Drug Enforcement Administration] kind of, the upper levels at the DEA obviously said it was okay, that’s what gave it the green light.”

But a timeline of events shows McCaskill clearly was back on the job at that time in 2016. A March 14 USA Today story highlighted McCaskill’s return to the Senate following breast cancer treatment. Senate records show she voted against a bill to defund Planned Parenthood on March 16. And on March 17, the opioid bill in question was approved.  read more

  1. Say. Isn’t Claire McCaskill* running for reelection in 2018 in a strong Trump state? Is that why she would lie about this?

*Who can kill jobs – see “Obama, McCaskill and Chrysler to close Fenton truck plant and move production to Mexico.”

  2. I don’t know that I would have objected. I like to believe I would have, but the bottom line is, once the DEA [Drug Enforcement Administration] kind of, the upper levels at the DEA obviously said it was okay, that’s what gave it the green light.”

So this is how she sizes up issues, i.e. people at “upper levels” say something is OK or not. Pelosi/Schumer tell them how to vote, and they do, in lockstep.

  3. “If I say a thing I know is not perfect truth, it is a flat perjury.”
    No wiggle room.
No “spin” – another word for “lie.”

Once we, as a people, accepted lies in our public discourse, we allowed our Republic to perish – for our Republic – as defined by our Constitution – cannot function on deceit. A sovereign (in this case We, the People) cannot make decisions based on falsehoods. We simply compound error upon error, growing geometrically (or exponentially) further from good government.

Claire McCaskill is an oozing pustule on the taint of America.
The maggotry of the urban corruption of Missouri (and a good dose of fraud) put her, and keeps her, in office. The benighted denizens of STL, KC, and Jefferson City (as in every other city in America) will vote for any despicable disgusting filthy thieving corrupt lying maggot the socialists put before them with a promise of continuing the “free-shit” express.

Our Republic cannot function in a hurricane of ignorance and mendacity.
    It wasn’t designed that way.

  4. “she sure does have some pumpkin carving attributes”

looks like she was sitting on the porch too long already !

her candle went out years ago !

looks like she was “punkin chucked” !

  5. Use this in ads during 2018. The tagline should be “Now she’s just plain lying to us”. If she can’t be unseated in 2018 then you have to wonder who can. Just to be sure though make sure the Real GOP has electoral scrutineers at each polling stations and that one travels with the ballet box everywhere it goes. Just to be , you know, sure.

  6. McCaskill is an embarrassment to Missouri, but so is Senator Blunt (R) most of the time. And, don’t get me started on St. Louis whose mayor and aldermen passed a declaration praising a slain drug dealer (resisting arrest), but rejected a resolution praising the police for their handling of the ensuing destructive protests. The St. Louis administration (D) has aligned with the demonstrators.
