MICHAEL COHEN HAS A PLOY TO REDUCE HIS PRISON SENTENCE

Cohen’s lawyers, Lanny Davis and Michael Monico, said that they hoped Cohen’s prison term “will be substantially postponed while he is fully cooperating with prosecutors and Congress.”

DC:

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is formally seeking a delayed and reduced prison sentence after claiming to have found a computer hard drive he wants to provide investigators.

Cohen’s attorneys asked lawmakers, in a letter sent Thursday to congressional Democrats, to write a letter documenting Cohen’s cooperation with congressional committees as well as his willingness to hand over documents from the newly discovered hard drive.

Cohen’s lawyers said they plan to provide the letter to prosecutors in the Southern District of New York, where Cohen received a three-year prison sentence on Dec. 12.

Cohen said he recently accessed a hard drive that he claims contains 14 million files, including emails, voice recordings and attachments from Cohen’s computers and phones.

The letter, first reported by CNN, says that Cohen has reviewed only 3,500 files and is sorting through them to remove privileged information.

Cohen’s lawyers, Lanny Davis and Michael Monico, said that they hoped Cohen’s prison term “will be substantially postponed while he is fully cooperating with prosecutors and Congress.”

The former Trump fixer is scheduled to report to prison on May 6 to begin a three-year sentence. Cohen pleaded guilty in the Manhattan case on Aug. 21 to tax evasion, bank fraud and making illegal campaign contributions. He pleaded guilty in the special counsel’s investigation on Nov. 29 to lying to Congress about the extent of his efforts to negotiate building a Trump Tower in Moscow.

The letter provides no details about how Cohen found the hard drive or what other information it contains.  more

  1. throw the jerk in the clinker already.
“Cohen said he recently accessed a hard drive that he claims contains 14 million files”
isn’t that evidence of withholding evidence? There were search warrants executed for that type of stuff. All of it, too. He is a lawyer and has two other lawyers and this is what they come up with? Time to send the cnn video swat team over to his cubby hole and see what else he has. I bet he has stuff written on the backside of his wallpaper- don’t forget to check there too. They love to hide things there, nobody ever looks. I’d just gut the place, to be safe.

  2. Nobody who isn’t a techie ever removes a hard drive from a computer unless it has failed and must be replaced, and it’s a rare non-techie who’ll even attempt that on their own.

No rich non-techie EVER messes with the hardware. If it doesn’t work, they pay a peon to fix it. Even if he did remove it, he wouldn’t FORGET he removed it and he wouldn’t LOSE … ahem, MISPLACE it.

This schmoe doesn’t strike me as being a techie.

If it wasn’t found when his premises were raided, it was hidden somewhere off-site. If it even existed, there’s no way he lost track of where it was.

  3. 14 million files! That’s a lot of work product for one Shyster Rat Cohabitator. This Shyster Rat Cohabitator was the first one down the hawser when the Feds were looking for a Shyster Rat to do some singing at their Gand Jury Opera in Manhattan. The Shyster Rat guards have been in place for over a year now, and the Feds will not take him back on board. They might even consider this a violation of the Shyster Rat Cohabitator’s plea deal. Let’s hope so.
