Michael Vick Backing Anti-Cruelty to Animals Bill

BreitbartSports: Sitting in a Leavenworth penitentiary for 19 months on a 2007 conviction for operating a vicious dog-fighting ring, Pittsburg Steelers quarterback Michael Vick had plenty of time to think about how to become part of the solution to preventing animal cruelty rather than being part of the problem.

Part of that solution comes to fruition Tuesday when Vick makes his way to Harrisburg to muster support for Pennsylvania House Bill 1516, which will protect dogs and cats left unattended in hot cars. read more

  1. Pot>>>>>>Kettle….message over. Anyone that’s cruel to animals is a fucking sociopath and will never change. Just more PR bullshit for a has been loser. Do us a favor and just kill yourself.

  2. I dunno Gwenn, but reading your post, I’d hate to be you.

Vick has to worry about his Maker’s judgement of his life. he did time, maybe he has seen the light.s

You, imo, better worry if you need forgiveness in YOUR life someday if that post truly reflects how you think.

  3. If he’s sincerely sorry for past actions and wants to make amends, who am I to judge? Not condoning what he did but I did some things when I was younger that I wish I could go back and change (not criminal but not very nice either)

  4. Redemption. It exists. I hate what he did to those dogs.
He was convicted and did his time. He more than met his counseling obligations and has worked quietly outside the media’s view to help animals. I heard him speak 2 years ago and there was something in his eyes that said he hates what he did and wants to do better.
He’s trying. He’s right about having the following to be able to reach people and make a difference. It sure beats those who keep repeating the same mistakes and crimes over and over. Let him use his fame and following to accomplish something much needed.

  5. As a Christian, I can accept this man’s apology, especially since he has served his time in the slammer and continues to do so in the court of public opinion.

That said, sometimes doing the right thing is not the right thing to do. Although it is admirable for Vick to seek redemption, he should distance himself from anything animal related other than fishing.
