A Dem lawmaker from Michigan got busted spending campaign cash at a strip club after he reported the expenditure. State Rep. Jewell Jones, D-Inkster reported spending $221 of his campaign money at a strip club in Dearborn for a March 8 “constituent meeting” to discuss “potential economic projects.”
Jones took an interview with Detroit media and tried to describe the Pantheion Club as a “lounge,” not a strip club before the phone mysteriously went dead. A Twitter account using the name Pantheion Club describes it as “the oldest and most established gentlemen’s club in Michigan.”
Jones later texted the reporter at the Detroit News after the phone interview failed: “We have to meet people where they’re at some times, #HOLLA.” He then told the reporter the strip club has “great lamb chops.” MORE
