Reuters: The Michigan Senate approved legislation on Wednesday making genital mutilation of girls a state felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison, both for doctors who perform the procedure and parents who transport a child to undergo the surgery.
The legislation, which now goes to the state House of Representatives, was spurred by the case of an emergency room physician charged last month under federal law with performing genital mutilation on two 7-year-old girls at a suburban Detroit medical clinic.
Unbelievable that you even have to make a law to outlaw this procedure. Not medically necessary, done to little girls who have no choice & it’s barbaric.

Why ban a procedure? Why not ban those whose culture practices said procedure? If the good folks of Michigan had any brain or balls they’d round up every damn one of those rag heads and send them back to the 3rd world hell holes they came from.
It needs to be a Federal law, too, punishable by loss of citizenship (if any) and deportation after serving time.
Is it not considered a crime if you lop the privates off of a boy?

Several years ago, the American Academy of Pediatrics were not against FGM. They got a lot of backlash and walked it back. Still unbelievable that they thought that way in the first place but they are very much a liberal organization.
