Mississippi Lt. Governor Suddenly Collapses While Presiding Over the State Senate

GP: A shocking and disturbing episode occurred in the Mississippi State Senate today as concerns over the age of elected officials continue to mount.

As Mississippi Today reported, 77-year-old Mississippi Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann was presiding over the state Senate chamber as the legislative body was about to take up its final appropriation bills for the day. Then, disaster struck shortly after 11 a.m. local time while Hosemann was still at the podium.

“These are multi-year payouts,” a speaker can be heard saying before the Lt. Governor drops his head and suddenly collapses in a heap in front of horrified attendees. more here
