DC— District Attorney Michael Guest won the Mississippi GOP runoff election Tuesday night, in a race to replace retiring Rep. Gregg Harper in the deep red 3rd District.
Guest, who failed to receive 50 percent of the vote in the June 5 GOP primary, took on businessman Whit Hughes in the runoff election, receiving 68.3 percent of the vote with 262 precincts reporting, compared to Hughes, who received 31.7 percent of the vote when the race was called, according to The New York Times.
