  1. …I dont know about Afgan women in particular, but there’s some things about Western hygiene that it may be beneficial for Muslims in general to have explained to them, before we get to the nuances of a piece of cheese stapled to a wall…

  2. …seems to me a woman who is at-risk for having acid thrown in her face if she dare uncover it in public is more in need of protection from BECOMING “modern art” that needing to UNDERSTAND it.

…besides, since many such attacks blind the lady in question, the understanding of “art” may well be mooted due to her physical inability to SEE it…

  3. One X commenter had a great idea: a game show or contest with points for guessing correctly whether some program or other is real or not. Like:

Showing Afghan women modern art pictures of urinals. Real or Not?

    Could be fun…

    Spoiler: Real.

  4. I know a woman who is flown at the “charity’s expense” to Rwanda 2-3 times a year because she’s “on the board” of her friend’s charity — which receives grants from youknowwhere. Her wealthy friend owns a high-end resort where “board members” are wined and dined, relax, go sightseeing, etc. No expense spared.

The “charity” provides misc. gymnasium equipment to a couple of schools. Helping the poor black wannabe future Olympians learn how to weight-lift and stuff like that.

  5. SNS “Guernica” was displayed at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art for the longest time and it is indeed a horror show. Forget where it is now but that same Museum displayed another modern “artist’s painting upside down until yet another”artist” told them about it . Am no artist but I recognize crap when I see it.

  6. I learned all I need to about Picasso from reading British historian Paul Johnson’s book Intellectuals and it wasn’t pretty. Picasso was truly one screwed up person and, in my opinion not worthy of all his celebrity just like all the other intellectuals that the world idolizes from reading Paul Johnson’s book.
