FOX: A massive Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake was spotted in Florida over the weekend.
The snake slithered across a 10-foot golf cart path in Ponte Vedra, according to Derek Tyson, who first spotted the rattler.
Tyson told Fox News on Tuesday that he was out for a drive with his wife and 5-month-old child when the family noticed the “monster” serpent.
“We drove by it, but did a U-turn and came back to take pictures,” he said.
Tyson said that he’s seen several other snakes in the area before, but Sunday marked the first time he’s ever seen an Eastern Diamondback. MORE
I think that’s just a skinny democrat politician trying to sneak something by us.
They love the warm Florida
weather & the sand, the sand they
love the sand.Could be one just
like that right outside your door BFH…
Test!
Hope this works and things are back to normal…
Looks like it swallowed a whole Hogg.
Works, but the edit feature is gone. Was that part of the problem?
That is a gigantic nope snek
You should see the feral pythons in the Everglades. Up to 17 feet. An annual killing contest with cash prizes cannot kill them fast enough. Naturally, a few hunting parties get lost every year. I suppose some of them get eaten… Good times.
Why do there always have to be snakes? I hate snakes!
Looks like a whole ensemble, boots, belt, hat band, and a really nice sized purse for the little lady.
Umm, I did not make the comment a couple above this one…still some bugs in the new system?
This snake left east Texas about a week ago. He heard that there is Florida Hogg on the menu. He’s bound to be hungry by now so let him eat.
RickeyG, I don’t know why, but your screen name auto fills the fields sometimes for several users. It wasn’t me this time.
My Bro in law lives in San Antonio FL and he tells me that they have an annual RATTLESNAKE FESTIVAL down there. And they taste like chicken.
It looks like average size rattler to me. They must be small in Florida.
Largest rattlesnake festival in Texas is in Sweetwater, Texas. Just a little west of Abilene.
I grew up about 7 miles from a place called Rattlesnake point,(near Rockport) which I discovered was aptly named. While going to a job there my father and I cam across a large rattler. My dad decided that I should get out of the truck and kill this 7 footer which was just minding his own business crossing the road.. I grabbed a shovel and reared back and hit this snake with all my 9 year old body had. All I did was piss this (by then 17 footer, or so it seemed) snake off. I missed the hood of the truck and jumped all the way back to the bed, all the time my father was sitting behind the wheel an laughing his ass off. That day was when I learned to cuss. Now days I just shoot em on sight. And yes, they do taste remarkably like chicken.
That line about “snakes just want to be left alone” is a crock. I was walking down a dirt road about 40 ft behind a bull snake when he turned and charged right at me.
A major reason I still live in Maine!!
No poisonous snakes.
We can walk in the woods or a field or a golf cart path and never have to think about it.
I ran across a rattler in Phoenix North Mountain Park that was about 75% of that size stretched across the trail. Had a hell of a time keeping my two dogs from going after it. When I first spotted it, I sounded like that Wultz character from The Godfather after finding the horse head in his bed… “Ahh!… AHH!… AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!…”
