More Than 1,700 People Treated Against Hepatitis After Visit to Popular NY Restaurant

NBC: Hundreds of people were treated against Hepatitis A this week after officials warned customers of a popular Port Chester restaurant that they may have been exposed to the serious infection.

The Westchester Health Department said more than 1,700 people were treated on Thursday and Friday in connection with five cases of Hepatitis A traced to the Bartaco restaurant on Willett Avenue. About 900 were treated Thursday and 800 on Friday.

Lines for the free treatments stretched outside Westchester County Center on Friday.

“I love tacos. It was my first time trying a portobello, and this happened,” Clifton Newton said. “So, you know, what can I do?”

  1. Many years ago, I was driving home and saw a Taco Bell. I thought to myself, I think I’ll stop and get something “quick and dirty”. Weel, a few days later, a news article was published saying if you ate at the restaurant, get a gamma globulin shot. An employee had hepatitis. Irony!

  2. Nice handicap access for that line up there^
And pics of their ‘clinic’ don’t seem too well prepared for an adverse/allergic reaction to the vaccine.

It is to be expected, I guess, what with the employment of people who are here illegally and might not even be able to speak/read our language. Personal hygiene isn’t practiced, or taught properly. And in california, infecting someone with HIV, intentionally or otherwise, is now a mere misdemeanor. Science isn’t moving forward on these things.
I listen to WABC in NYC some evenings, and I heard warnings about this. Originally it had a much earlier start date for exposure- maybe even Aug. 2 or so. I went to their web page and it said “Restaurant patrons who ate or drank at bartaco between August 22nd and October 11th may also have been exposed to Hepatitis A.” http://abc7ny.com/health/hepatitis-a-exposure-at-port-chester-restaurant/2568039/
That must/might be a different employee.
    Can you say incubation?
Did the current ‘typhoid mary’ get it from the earlier one? Nice how they ignore the first exposure(s).
    NYC and life goes on

Here it is: Hepatitis A Vaccination of Men Who Have Sex With Men — Atlanta, Georgia, 1996-1997

◼️ Outbreaks of hepatitis A among men who have sex with men (MSM) are a RECURRING PROBLEM in many large cities in the industrialized world. Because MSM are at HIGH RISK for acquiring hepatitis A, in 1995 the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended that MSM BE VACCINATED AGAINST HEPATIIS A. These recommendations have not been implemented widely, even in outbreak settings. This report summarizes the investigation of an ongoing outbreak of hepatitis A among MSM in Atlanta, Georgia, and a public health vaccination campaign in response to the outbreak.

Non-Politically Correct Summary: These walking disease bags keep playing with their shit so often, that it’s recommended they be routinely vaccinated whether they have hepatitis or not.

  4. Soooo … it’s not just mexicans, but fags, too, who carry and distribute this shit? Ragheads, too, probably, since they wipe their asses with their bare hands and then fix dinner.

    This is progress?

  5. KMM- I was in a restaurant two weekends ago and after ordering coffee went to use the restroom before ordering food. I had seen an employee exit the bathroom, so I knew where it was. When I went to wash my hands, there was no soap in the dispenser, and it looked like it had been that way for a while. I returned to the table and said we were just going to have the coffee. As we left I let the person at the door know that they didn’t have soap in the bathroom.
Better safe than sorry. They scared me off.

  6. it could be worse, I was working in an Arctic exploration camp awhile back. later I heard the cook had to be hospitalized. He froze his nuts in the outdoor sh!tter. apparently he had diarrhea and was sitting in the minus 35 to minus 40 sh!tter too long and literally froze his nuts. NO ONE WANTS TO KNOW THE COOK HAS DIARRHEA.
