More Than 600 Google Employees Won’t Be ‘Complicit’ In Working With CBP

Daily Caller:

More than 600 Google employees said they “refuse” to be “complicit” in potential cloud computing work for Customs and Border Protection (CBP), according to a petition.

The employees signed a petition titled “Google must stand against human rights abuses” posted to Medium on Wednesday that says they will not work with CBP or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by association on a potential cloud computing contract.

Cloud computing allows entities like CBP to share resources, software and information through the internet rather than on a hard drive. more here

  1. Wouldn’t that be like the old AT&T denying long distance services to a government agency ? Or MA Bell refusing service to the same. We know what happened to those companies. Time to split up Google.

  2. None of them have a problem co-operating with China in controlling its population’s internet access.

Maybe some Angel Families should point out they are aiding and abetting the people who rape and killed their loved ones.

  3. I hope you all have removed Google from your search engine list.

    I use DuckDuckGo and Startpage.com

Go to tools/options/search if you have Firefox. Stop using anything Google. It all helps if we boycott them in any way.

  4. @?? ~ StartpageDotCom is “… paying [Google] to use their brilliant search results in order to remove trackers and logs”
… oh yeah, I’m suuuuuuuuuuuure they do … I completely trust Google …. uh huh

  5. I wonder whether Brin, Page and Pinchai and the rest of the mandarins at Google (aka AlphaBet Inc) are preparing 600 termination notices because of this. They aren’t fans of the government (especially Trump and any one they consider conservative) but they aren’t stupid as there is already talk of subjecting Google and the rest (FaceBook, MicroSoft etc) to investigations with regards to monopoly activity with a view to splitting them up and even the Democrats have to be worried that these behemoths could pull the same crap on them if/when they get back into power. I suspect that these 600 are going to be crushed with either a termination notice, demotion or a friendly chat letting them know that their careers just came to a screeching and permanent halt. Having said that I very much hope that the feds start monopoly investigations full-throttle with the intent of splitting these guys up within three years.
