(Natural News) MTV News has announced that it will shut down, with the development following the closure of fellow leftist BuzzFeed News.
John Nolte, senior writer for Breitbart, elaborated on the news in a May 10 piece. He wrote that Paramount Global, MTV News‘ parent company, announced the closure as part of its 25 percent staff reduction “across the Showtime, MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks groups in the United States.”
Chris McCarthy, president of Showtime, MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks, said in a statement: “We have made the very hard, but necessary decision to reduce our domestic team by approximately 25 percent. This is a tough yet important strategic realignment of our group.”
“Through the elimination of some units and by streamlining others, we will be able to reduce costs and create a more effective approach to our business as we move forward,” he continued. The announcement essentially ended the 36-year-run of MTV News. read more
THERE’S AN MTV NEWS???
Dang! If I had known MTV News existed, I would have made sure to boycott it!
Another opportunity missed…
It must have been on right after the music videos.
MTV still exists?
Do they still play music videos?
one of the reasons I stopped watching MTV back in the late ’80’s was because of MTV News & other political garbage
‘MTV’ … MUSIC TV …. get it???
(‘course we no longer have ‘music’, just garbage)

It’s me. I’m doing my Pro Nouns. Am I doing it right? I’m not sure your suppose to use the pound sign. LOL
I grew up with MTV playing awesome music videos. To bad they tried to actually think.
Good question Erik?
Perhaps if I respond it will confirm?
I ain’t have no music videos.
Can’t get no sleeves for my records
Can’t get no laces for my shoes
Can’t get no fancy notes
On my blue guitar
I can’t get no antidote for blues
Oh yeah, uh
Can’t find the reasons for your actions
Or I don’t much like the reasoning you use…
Another great one. I think this is one of the last one before they decided to tell you what you should think. Edie was king.

Back in the early days of MTV those videos were really creative. The best of MTV didn’t last long.
Joe6, if they had the same format as back then. I’d still be watching. Never go full woke.
Duran Duran- Girls on Film
Adam Ant- Goody Two shoes
The Fixx- Red Skies at Night
J. Geils Band- Angel is the Centerfold
The Tubes- She’s a Beauty
Billy Squier- Lonely is the Night
Good times!

Pat Benatar, Annie Lennox, Talking Heads, several more that aren’t coming to mind. Anyway, it was good while it lasted. We better cut down our comments, the comment nazis have us on a count.
Addicted to Love, Robert Palmer
Take On Me, a-ha
Love is a Battlefield, Pat Benatar
Sledgehammer, Peter Gabriel
Soooo many cool videos from way back.
If I remember right, at the beginning of Yellowstone it says MTV Films which I thought was odd…but they are owned by Paramount. I guess that’s why?!?
Somebody help me. I don’t remember the song in the video with the frozen chicken dancing. Anybody remember?
Here’s another great band that played on MTV right before the went full Joe Biden.

Col. Angus
I’m thinking that was Sledge Hammer. I’ll check. Great song
Illustr8r, speaking of Pat Benatar, Hell Is For Children was an interesting video. I thought Pat Benatar was pretty hot in those days.
Col. Angus
That’s it. Actually Erik linked it above.
Brad, you are correct sir. I just looked. Pretty sure I was slightly impaired when viewing it in 80’s, used to crack me up. Thanks.
I remember where I was on Saturday July 13th, 1985 when Live Aid was broadcast all day on MTV.
Do you?
Damn! 38 years ago!!!!
Loco, is that the one where Phil Collins performed in London, then took Concord to states and did performance here?
Ah here’s another one right before MTV decided to kill themselves. For you blues peeps. Nobody better than this guy. Maybe we should all chip in and start a music video channel, and just play music videos. LOL

Yes Colonel!
Epic shit.
Nevermore!
No more Concord and Phil is experiencing dire straits…
Brad, you won’t believe it but as soon as I read your comment I thought of that. We all know enough good music to put together an “Old Guy MTV”.

Well considering all three of my kids swipe my CD’s, we might be onto something. LOL. Well, they use to. I’m not sure what people do for music now these days. Or how to create a digital playlist. And have no desire to do so. LOL. I think I’ve arrived. At old.
One of my favorite live versions of a John Cougar Mellencamp tune.

I probably quit watching MTV about 1984 or so. As soon as the leftist indoctrination started, I was done. I had already really tapered off watching it when it went from music all the time to horse shit most of the time.
I never really watched it so much as listened and would glance at the video from time to time anyway.
Addicted to Love – haven’t heard that one for a while. That one deserves playing at Eleven!
“Twilight Zone” – I made an extended version of that as the sound track for a slide show of Air Force photography featuring modern day aircraft and WWII aircraft. It’s kinda cool watching it alternate between old and new – talk about the Twilite Zone!
I’m so old I remember when MTV played music videos.
I’m so old I’ve only watched it on links from places like here.
Sadly the work computer blocks you tube so now I’ll have to check it all out when I get home from “work.”
In a surprise announcement, Music Television will begin showing music videos once again.
There was still an MTV News?!
