Music Legends Van Morrison and Eric Clapton Team for Anti-Lockdown Anthem ‘Stand and Deliver’

Breitbart:

Rock music legends Van Morrison and Eric Clapton have teamed up for “Stand and Deliver,” a song that takes coronavirus lockdowns to task.

“There are many of us who support Van and his endeavors to save live music; he is an inspiration,” Clapton said according to Variety. “We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover.”

Clapton also said that the end of live entertainment due to coronavirus lockdowns is “deeply upsetting.”

Proceeds for the track — set to be released on December 4 — will go to Morrison’s Lockdown Financial Hardship Fund, which works to lend financial assistance to musicians left struggling during the global pandemic and the mitigation lockdowns imposed across the world. more

  1. They grew up learning a history including WW2 and of men Like Churchill, where people were mobilized towards a victory rather than lulled into a dependent vegetative state.

  2. Sexygirl, what about the other 55 genders, you bigot?

I would have more respect for these guys if they condemned the entire practice of lock downs, both as anti-science and anti-capitalist.

It’s refreshing to see Hollywood types feeling the same pain as regular folks in the face of this Un-Constitutional power grab.

  3. So their concern is about live music? Great! Fantastic! By all means let’s make sure that a bunch of drug addled d-bags keep getting a check instead of the people at the hardware store or local gym or local grocery

  4. I despise Clapton. Always have. I think he’s a far overrated hack. But upon seeing this headline, I thought, “well, maybe I’ve misjudged him.”
Then reading the article I see it’s not so much about freedom as it finances.
    Full circle, I despise Clapton.

  5. Clapton and co are worried about their live music money. They were silent until they needed the cash, you see. Soon as they’re allowed to go back on stage, they won’t be worried about the rest of us.

  7. actually Clapton (& Morrison) are fairly conservative, particularly in their views on immigration. back in ’76 (I think) Clapton went into a drunken rage on stage & started cursing the ‘wogs’ & ‘coon’ & yelling ‘keep Britain white’.

he also does a lot of charity work for drug addiction (which he knows a lot about), donating most of his guitar collection for auction to raise $$$ for his ‘Crossroads Center’ & also organized the famous Crossroads Blues Festival to raise $$$. he is also a supporter of ‘Country Alliance’ that promotes hunting & shooting. he was also against the fox hunting ban in England

due to problems w/ his hands (he’s over 70) he rarely does much live music anymore … & Clapton definitely doesn’t need the $$$
