A few months ago, someone on Quora suggested the the Republican Party should nominate a woman for President because the Democrats would not be as hard on her as they would a man. I reminded them about how the Dems treated Sandra Palin and Michelle Bachman. I also mentioned how the Dems treat RINOS who are normally loved by the Dems.
Conservative women are like conservative blacks. The minute they start to gain stature, the Dems go after them with a(n un)holy vengeance.

Around 1970, the Clark County D.A. colluded with the medical examiner, Vegas P.D., and the county sheriff to cover up a string of murders where women’s throats were bitten and their blood drained. They feared the impact on tourism dollars that reports of a “vampire” serial killer would have. But the prime suspect was himself killed by the only reporter brave enough to follow the story. That reporter was then run out of town under the threat that if he ever exposed what happened, a warrant would be issued for his arrest. Saw it all on the TV when I was a kid.
