MRCtv: The Department of Energy has implemented new temperature settings and energy usage regulations for wine refrigerators. For what logical reason you may ask? I couldn’t tell you, and neither can the official document. The federal agency is simply micromanaging, yet again.
According to the rule, compliance is estimated to cost small businesses an average of $12,500 per small business.
The rule notes:
DOE also analyzed the testing cost burden relative to the revenues of small manufacturers. Based on this analysis, DOE estimates that the cost burden for revising representations of coolers ranges from 0.02 to 0.04 percent of annual revenues, depending on the specific small business. DOE concludes that these values are unlikely to represent a significant economic impact for small businesses.
It is designated to “improve energy efficiency” by determining if a refrigeration product, that was formally defined as a cabinet with one or more doors, meets certain prerequisites.
The rule states the wine refrigerators must have:
Reason number 4,586 to drink beer. Or, as we say in west Texas, “Drank mo’ bur!”
Whine regulations.
What is really needed is regulation on government.
The “Ministry of Silly Walks” can’t be far away now.
Can’t wait for the unintended consequences of this.
Just helping out all the dummies that serve wine at the wrong temperature, thanks government. Where is the taxing/ government income component?
Just shot a look at my copy of the US Constitution … NOPE … not a single mention of “wine refrigerator settings” … I really DO need a copy of one of those super-whamodyne-Constitutions used by gov’t “regulators.”
Piss my boots, but somebody needs to show how ANY of this shit has ANY-FUCKIN-THING to do with the Federal Government! And bear in mind – this is a DIRECT result of a cowardly, feckless Legislature’s inability to do its job – both in defunding illegal (not Constitutionally mandated) entities and their subsequent failure to oversee them.
izlamo delenda est …
The Commerce Clause, Tim. It – and the General Welfare clause – covers everything… in their conveniently-skewed, legal view.
The Constitution needs to be rewritten.
Follow the money.
We need a regulation requiring that all revenuers achieve room temperature.
“The Constitution needs to be rewritten.”
Not sure about that. Maybe we should just elect honorable men?
I am assuming, of course, that there still exist such creatures …
izlamo delenda est …
I hate bureaucrats. They are a blight on our culture and enemies of liberty.
A lot of ink could have been spared by just requiring 1/2 in more insulation.
One lousy sentence.
Fuckers have to meddle.
It’s not the government’s business. You can take that two different ways and both would be correct. Too much fucking regulation = too much fucking money in the pockets of corrupt politicians.
I hope Trump builds enough giant prisons to house all of those corrupt sons of bitches.
