LET: AUSTIN, TX – Twenty-three new laws went into effect on January 1, 2022 in Texas. Of those new laws, only one was controversial.
According to KXAN, Senate Bill 23 was designed to prevent reductions in budgets for law enforcement agencies without voter approval. The bill was a response to the Austin City Council reducing the budget of the Austin Police Department.
Jennifer Szimanski, Public Affairs coordinator for Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), weighed in on the matter.
“They aren’t allowed to reduce any funds or reallocate without securing voter approval.
I think it’s obvious to most Texans now that this [defunding the police] isn’t going to work. Hopefully, we don’t have to deal with complaints as a result of this legislation.” more here
Texas needs to invite all of their leftists to relocate to New Mexico.
Only valid if, and only if, EVERYONE votes. Not some special election, off season, where 10% of registered voters participate.
Speaking of Texas listen to the snake Ted Cruz.

Soon to be overturned by a federal court. Followed by state legislature whining. Without a clue.
