New York City’s homeless population surges to 12-year high

NYP: The city’s street homeless population skyrocketed by 39 percent this year to 3,892 — highest since 2005 — but the number was not posted or publicly released as usual.

Last year, when 2,794 homeless individuals were found living and sleeping on the streets the de Blasio administration issued a press release on April 28, 2016 trumpeting the sharp reduction from 3,183 in 2015.

The new surge comes despite a massive effort by the administration to canvass the streets for homeless individuals and convince them to enter the city’s shelter system. more

  1. Put a Proglodyte in as mayor and watch your city begin to crumble.

Here in Denver they just repealed the law that banned public urination. The problem is it won’t sink in to your average Denver voter because they are not sober enough to catch the part about “repeal”. It may or may not sink in after the 3rd or 4th homeless guy is not busted for whipping it out and watering their front lawn.

All I can tell you is I don’t live in Denver and never will.

  2. In order to get the Free Range Citizen’s votes, hizzoner needs to announce that he’s going to provide FREE housing for all those in need. It worked in Portland, Oregon. Then Free Shitters showed up from all over the country. The City Council could not figure out why.
