NFL Settles Collusion Lawsuit With Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick settled his collusion lawsuit against the NFL Friday.

The NFL and Kaepernick’s representatives released the following joint statement:

For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL. As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party.

Kaepernick sued the league for collusion after he went unsigned following his release for the San Francisco 49ers. The fact he refused to stand for the national anthem was believed to have made him a toxic figure for the league, and the league’s reputation among many fans took a hit when kneeling engulfed the NFL a couple years ago.

Eric Reid also filed a collusion case, which was settled as well.

Financial details of the settlement haven’t been released, but Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk floated a number as high as $50 million for a settlement.   more here

  1. Yeah, and number 3 died 18 years ago. I find that amount of time more than disturbing. I remember the day it happened. The family was waiting for the race to end to go shopping. I saw the hit into the wall and immediately told the wife, He’s dead. More relevant then the day the music died.

  2. The second rate player pulled the black grievance routine to cash in and direct attention away from his piss poor field performance. If you’re a black shit eater you can still pressure employers to fork over lest they be called “racists’.

  3. I stopped watching NFL 2.2 years ago. Goodell is/was the reason. this reinforces my statement Rodger hates America!
    $50,000,000!>?$%^&#@

Clearly if you deal with Goodell it pays to hate America! Pays very well!

Kiss my America loving as- Goodell!

  4. In other news, Kaepernick was reportedly in talks with the fledgling AFF however Kaepernick’s 20 mil per year demand was too steep for a league that pays $255K over 3 years to players. Get that, a “demand” from an out of work has been.
