NFL’s Aaron Rodgers excoriated for reading Atlas Shrugged

American Thinker:
By Eric Utter

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has become persona non grata to progressives.  This is, truthfully, a remarkably easy feat.  He started irritating them around a year ago, when he criticized politicians who didn’t obey their own COVID-19 mandates.  More recently he deplored the “woke mob” and “cancel culture.”

The woke mob became truly apoplectic when Rodgers wasn’t clear about his vaccination status and then spoke with popular podcaster Joe Rogan, subsequently saying he had availed himself of the same COVID-19 treatment Rogan claimed to have used successfully.  You know, the so-called “horse de-wormer” — which is not a Dr. Fauci–approved “vaccine.”  (Of course, the COVID vaccines aren’t really “vaccines,” either, but that’s another story.  Nothing to see there.)  Due to the aforementioned indiscretions, Rodgers came off as someone the left detests most: a free thinker.  Ergo, he was The Enemy. more here

  1. I’m starting to like Aaron Rodgers, even though I’m a long-time Vikings fan.
The liberal sportswriters have been on Kirk Cousins case too for not being vaccinated and missing the recent game against the Packers.
They never mentioned that his incompetent backup QB is vaccinated and was unavailable the week before because of testing positive for Covid.

  2. I was wanting to Mention several Times that

Atlas Shrugged should be re-read once every 4 years to help people understand how the government steals your life, energy & dignity.

Personally I have bought the book I given it to quite a few friends.

  3. Had an article over at townhall also that I linked on the NASCAR thread. In another life time I was a Bears fan who had the long standing rivalry with another (now passed) who worshipped Green Bay. Called his son to let him know that if I were ever to return to the National Felon League I would now root for Green Bay.

Have a couple of extra hard bound copies on the shelf for those occasions when someone says they haven’t read it.

I’ve been a conservative for over 70 years. 2 of my heros met at a “Randian Convention” 75 years ago: Walt Disney and Ronny. Which is why Ronny was the # 2 announcer 7/15/55. – A 5th grade girl was there (over 118 degrees asphalt melting, spike heels stuck in ;the road literally) I met her in college 8 years later and married 1/29/66,– This was the day the Ivy League “experts” would be a flop . Disneyland opened to 4 times as may folk as the “experts” predicted and double what Walt said.

I read Fountainhead and Atlas at the Pendleton library in ’66. Great books, if like Walt and Ronny you think “…govt IS THE PROBLEM!”!

Barry was not a “Randian” like Walt and Ronny; but he said her books explained America’s problems 60 years ago. Disclaimer: I watched THE SPEECH(10/64) and voted Barry; clearly biased.

  8. I’ve read just about everything she ever wrote in my lifetime. Ironically, a member of the Yale Ayn Rand Society asked me to join when I was reading The Fountainhead while on security.

I’m a free thinker. Why would I join anything?
