Daily Caller: L. Lin Wood and Todd McMurtry, attorneys for Nicholas Sandmann, released a statement Monday addressing an editor’s note issued by The Washington Post last Friday about their coverage of the Covington Catholic boys.
“The Friday night efforts by the Post to whitewash its wrongdoing were untimely, grossly insufficient and did little more than perpetuate the lies it published –lies that will haunt and adversely impact Nicholas for the rest of his life,” the statement read in part.
“The Post has now double-downed on its lies. As Nicholas’s lawyers, we will now double down on truth and aggressively continue our legal efforts to hold the Post accountable and obtain justice for Nicholas in a court of law,” the statement concluded.
Sandmann’s attorneys’ statement charges that WaPo “rushed to claim leadership of a mainstream and social media mob of bullies who falsely attacked, vilified and threatened Nicholas Sandmann.”
The statement adds that the Jeff Bezos-owned outlet “made clear that it has learned no lesson and remains willing in the future to falsely attack others to further its political agenda, including false attacks on children.” more
Nail their ASS to the wall.
@ Jellybean: But take ALLLLLLLLLL of their money first!!
Release what you consider an “apology” on a friday evening behind a paywall and hope it goes well for you. 😂
No retraction? No mercy.
Like I said earlier about this, Beezzers paid some schmuck a few bux to write an article in hopes of mitigating the settlement. All I say is I hope this turns out to be the Hindenburg of exploding cigars that results in the jury awarding far more than the plaintiff is asking. I know if I was on that jury I surely would!
I can’t find in KY court records where Sandmann’s lawyers have filed a case against Washington Post. Seems like it’s just letters sent to them, nothing else. Probably wanted wapo to just settle out of court. Disappointed. If anyone else can find it please post the link.
@Farmwife – I think so far they have only sent letters of intent. I believe they are still in the process of rounding up names.
@Different Tim
Thank you!
Farmwife – Don’t thank me. It’s only a guess.
TO FarmWife
Wouldn’t it be filed in the jurisdiction of the Defendant (Washington, DC)?
I mean, KY would certainly be more *sympathetic* to Sandmann….
Farmwife, why file in KY? File in Washington, where the WaPo’s office is, and where the incident happened.
I believe I recall reading somewhere that it would be filed in Kentucky. Remember someone stating that it would be another advantage for Sandmann as jury pool would be Kentuckians.
Chop off their post!
