Always have liked Dire Straits – and took shit for it from friends – never heard this version.
Back in my drinking days, my beer buddies and I, renamed this tune the sultans of swig. Which we proceeded to do with gusto. It was funny until the next morning.

Played this and Heart for the 8 year old so she could hear the difference in guitar styles.
Knoplerft or whatever his name is, doesn’t use a pic. Just has long nails, Nancy Wilson plays 10 times harder as a result of learning to play on a crap guitar. (thank you WSL. for the lovely article on Nancy this weekend.)
