NoKo woman kills herself under pressure of forced labor

The woman was ill but was required to pledge free labor to the regime.

SEOUL, July 18 (UPI) — A North Korean woman killed herself after pressure from authorities to take part in a mass-mobilization movement known as the “200-day battle.”

The unidentified woman in her 40s from Sinpa County in Yanggang Province was in poor health, a source in the province told South Korean news service Daily NK.

But despite her health condition North Korean authorities required that she volunteer free labor on behalf of the Kim Jong Un regime.

The woman killed herself while facing pressure from the government, the source said.

According to witnesses, the woman was heard frequently saying, “What is the point of living like this,” referring to her personal hardships and health condition.  more

  1. …and now, since she essentially “stole” her labor and life from The People’s Democratic Republic of North Korea (Best Korea!) and insulted the great, glorious Juche Idea (praise the long life of Father Kim Jong Il), her entire family will be imprisoned and fed rocks and leaves and forced to work 25 hours a day (new Korea time!).

What a blighted, forsaken country! (Who has an atomic bomb, thanks to Bill Clinton and Madeline Albright, who’s Not-So-Bright!).

  2. Hambone,
They used to have that in Germany when I was stationed there. They called it “Work-fare”. Didn’t matter your level of education or physical fitness, if you were on the State’s dole, you did the State’s work. How wonderful.
