WFB: The National Rifle Association filed a federal lawsuit against New York governor Andrew Cuomo (D.) on Thursday night in an effort to reopen gun stores closed by the emergency coronavirus shutdown.
Cuomo ordered all “nonessential” businesses to cease “in-office personnel functions” on March 22. He did not label gun businesses as “essential.” Since federally licensed gun dealers are required by law to conduct in-person background checks for each sale, the order effectively closed gun stores in the state and cut off most legal gun sales. The NRA said the governor’s shutdown order is an “assault” on “Second Amendment freedoms.” read more
Uh..duh..it’s about fucking time.
Governor Nipple-Ring strikes again.
“”Everyone—including the NRA—must follow the law and all executive orders of New York,” James said in a statement. “We will aggressively defend the state against yet another legal assault by the NRA.”
Quick, someone send this bitch a copy of the Constitution.
The NRA needs a hostile takeover
“But, de list! Commissar. I signed up for de list.”
”Everyone—including the NRA—must follow the law”
Last I knew the 2nd amendment is the law….
This should be approached in such a manner that it applies to all Constitutionally guaranteed right as well as the second amendment.
The second amendment is not the only one being set aside, even more directly are the first amendment protections of freedom of assembly and freedom of religious practice. Others as well.
That’s the real question, does the government -those at high positions in it- have the right to overrule the Constitutional protection of the peoples rights or not? Can it just set aside the Constitution be simply overruled by executive decree?
LisaMEdwards should get in touch with SharonMBlackstock and start making some serious money.
Meanwhile, people are actually talking about Cuomo running for President? That’s like replacing powered milk with skim. Both can be poured down the drain very quickly.
The FASTER New Yawk goes OUT of business, the sooner a REAL state can be made out of it.
Well, there you go; I guess Wayne LaPierre just earned his multi-million dollar salary, and private jet, and hundred-thousand dollar wardrobe and other perks. Every time NRA calls and asks for a donation, I ask the caller “is Wayne still running the show?” As long as the answer is yes, they get nada.
