The Government’s list of schools that are potentially falling apart after being built with poor quality concrete is growing all the time, MailOnline understands, after an order to shutter over 100 school buildings days before term left parents scrambling to make last-minute arrangements.
Families have vented their fury after the Department for Education (DfE) told 104 schools to close buildings made using reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) – a material widely used in the second half of the 20th century with a lifespan of 30 years and a texture similar to the inside of an Aero chocolate bar.
A report in June warned that more than 400 other schools could be harbouring the material and 700,000 pupils are learning in schools needing ‘major rebuilding’ – as it emerged that other public buildings like hospitals and courts are also at risk of falling apart. more here

LOL! Back in the 1970s, I worked for a UK building firm that was paid then to rig temporary reinforcements in buildings (schools) built with crap concrete… there’s nothing new in this shoddily-built world….
It seems like this is a Europe only issue. I don’t see any articles mentioning it being used in the USA.
Even US concrete is not as good as it was decades ago. I remember concrete stairs and walkways around the house my father built in the 40’s being in great condition into the late 80s when he sold it. Now, I can’t find concrete that is ten years old that is holding up as well.
Hmmmmm – adding chemicals to cause concrete to foam like the head on a draft beer wasn’t a material strength concern?
Closing schools would probably be healthier for children and our future than opening them so pervert/pedophile/communist teachers can ruin these kids’ lives. Kinda the same thing about the Hollywood strikes: all up-side.
Never happened when concrete had asbestos in it.

Infrastructure in our Country is crumbling. Water mains, sewers, storm drains, electric grid, freeway overpasses are stressed to the limit. Energy production and delivery are deliberately being outlawed.
Funds that could be used to address these concerns are wasted on boondoggles such as electric vehicles, bullet trains to nowhere, gender studies, illegal immigrants, kangaroo court prosecutions, financial and material aid to enemies abroad (kickbacks to the big guy), weaponizing of the ATF and IRS, fake (or worse) pandemics, fake climate crises, false-flag incidents.
Onerous regulations stifle manufacturing and other business, further eroding the tax base.
Hollywood and “educators” are filled with commies, pedos, greenies, woketards and assorted weirdos relentlessly poisoning the next generations.
The “News” all fake.
The music industry is ruined by autotune and hip-hop. And “Modern Country.”
Meanwhile, foreign elements are acquiring property and other assets (including gov’t officials sworn to protect us from enemies foreign and domestic.)

Man-made crumbling concrete just screams white supremacy. if the UK had had DEI programs back when these schools were built, this racist abomination never would have happened. We need reparations!! I remember butt-wipe-ish science rags covering the wonders of aerated concrete back around the 1980z. Said rags also promised fusion power in thirty year, which would’ve been about a decade ago.
