Oh ffs with this non story. Look at the puzzle grids for the last century and you’d likely find dozens that could be said to resemble swastikas. It may not be law, but nearly 100% of crosswords are symmetrical and the top will mirror the bottom. The shape the shaded squares take are a crap shoot like rolling a kaleidoscope. I know puzzle constructors can create a design intentionally for holidays, etc., but swastikas on Chanukkah in the NYT seems like a reach to me.
What are the odds math would be anti-semetic too
