NYP: Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the city is giving away free pocket-sized sex kits with spaces to stash condoms, lubricants and birth-control pills.
Starting Sunday, the city is expanding its condom giveaway to include plastic pouches that hold “the prevention pill of a person’s choice,” which include everything from HIV medication to birth control, officials said Friday. more

Puzzled. A dose of HIV medication? The prevention pill of your choice? What does that mean?
I could not find a drug on line that would prevent HIV with ONE dose. What if the person already tests positive for HIV?
How can NY get away with giving what seems to be prescriptive drugs to anybody including children?
Somebody please tell me what I am missing.
