The ongoing surge of migrants to the Big Apple has forced the city to strike emergency deals with 14 hotels because the shelter system is overloaded amid President Biden’s border crisis.
Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Manuel Castro revealed the eye-popping total during a news conference at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan, where five buses arrived Thursday carrying migrants relocated by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott — matching Wednesday’s record number of buses.
City Hall pressed the 14th hotel into service on Thursday, up from 11 about two weeks ago, an official familiar with the matter told The Post.
In another stunning acknowledgment of the city’s inability to deal with the situation, Castro said Mayor Eric Adams and Gov. Kathy Hochul have appealed to officials in other states for help housing migrants. more

…I’ve been in a LOT of houses where the Government pays for the house.
Trust me, they’re gonna need to REPLACE those hotels when the free-riders are done with them.

I’m guessing it won’t be great, althogh the mostly military-age male immigrants will most likely welcome them into their rooms with open arms, with the cavet they will have to have their welcome returned with open legs if the ladies expect to be able to leave…

I had never heard about HH Holmes until I read the book Devil In The White City by Eric Larson a couple of years ago. It’s a great book about the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893 as well as the true story of one of America’s first serial killers HH Holmes who murdered quite a few women in a hotel that he had turned into a torture chamber to dispose of their bodies. He was eventually caught and hung for his crimes. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it’s a great story about how the Chicago World’s Fair came to be as well as a secondary story of murder by HH Holmes and his unsuspecting women victims and how he used the World’s Fair to cover his crimes because of his hotel’s close proximity to the World’s Fairgrounds.

You are right sir. Larsen is damned good writer. I did read “Devil in The White City”. Very Interesting. The White City, If I remember, is a reference to the World Fair grounds and buildings which were illuminated by electricity and glowed bight white at night.
Interestingly, an investigator claimed that Walt Disney’s father visited the 1893 fair and told his son about it, giving Walt the inspiration for Disneyland.
Another of Larsen’s books – Thunderstruck – an intersection of events in the lives of Marconi and Dr. Crippen, Murderer. Excellent.
Another is about the US Ambassador to Britain in the 1930’s and his daughter’s association with Nazis. Can’t remember the name, but I read it.
Larsen’s storytelling seems to encompass seemingly disparate things that converge in his books. It’s a strategy that works well.
The big-toothed, big-footed, and uber-ugly unelected gov Hochul has used Joe Biden’s own words of his vicious and racial slur ‘YOU AIN’T BLACK’ by her saying ‘YOU’RE NOT NEW YORKERS’. Hochul (and pedo Joe) inclduing msm and dem party hide the very-obvious fact that much of NY’s black population are now conservative-republicans in a massive widespread red wave. These are the very same people who are waking up to the fact that the vile dem party had their boot heels upon the necks of blacks for far too long.
