NYT: Venezuela a ‘Consumerism’ Problem, Dictator Chavez a ‘Democrat’

  1. Venezuela is in this pickle because the government gave away too many televisions and refrigerators? It is impossible to lampoon a leftist because they do such a good job lampooning themselves.

But the observations that all governments are corrupt to varying degrees is accurate – but hardly an argument a socialist should make in favor of socialism.

  2. How dare Venezuelans not be willing to starve to death in order to make Chavez’s Socialism work. Don’t they know how important it is to our leftist elites that they have a least one nation where they aren’t embarrassed by the depredations visited up those only want other people’s things.

  3. Now those lucky Venezuelans no longer need to wonder what happens when socialists run out of other peoples’ money.

I’m wondering when the cannibalism is going to start.
