In early 1977, I was serving in the USAF as a photo interpreter at SAC Headquarters. One day they told us that the USAF had determined that there weren’t enough minorities in that career field. All USAF photo interpreters back then had to take a battery of tests and pass each one with a grade of at least 90. What was the Air Force solution to the problem. It was proposed that from that point onward, all minorities only needed to make 70 or better to quality to train for the job. I was pissed. I told my OIC that they should lower to requirement to 60 and let chimps train for the job. GO AIR FORCE! I don’t know if the plan went into effect as I left the Air force late that year.

Ah yes. The quest for lower standards to fulfil some of life’s goals is an old technique I first heard from a friend.
My best friend in the Navy once told me he had decided he wasnt getting laid often enough because he was meeting very few women that met his standards. So he lowered his standards. Saying the quality was lower but the frequency was much improved. I guess that stradegy worked ok for that purpose. But for other purposes I think that stradegy is best avoided.
My view when it comes to people like AT Controllers or paramedics on the EMS crews, as two examples. I want the most skillful person available doing the job. I don’t want an incompetent white guy on the crew just because he’s white. Nor an incompetent minority just because they’re a minority. I want the best available no matter what their color is. Keep the higher standards unless the goal is to screw things up & cost lives.

They just can’t get it right. The idea was to make it possible to compete fairly for positions not to install minorities after removing competent people.
At some point you have to ask is this being done for fairness or spite? I think the answer is clear.
diversity is a racist proposition.
it’s admitting that the minorities don’t have the mental capacity to do what is required for the job.
with that in mind why so much hate for the white man who apparently has the capacity to fulfill the job requirements.
