OBAMACARE REPEAL MEANS A MAJOR TAX CUT

Powerline Blog: I was puzzled when I heard Nancy Pelosi denouncing the just-passed House Obamacare repeal bill as a “tax cut for the rich.” I am entirely in favor of tax cuts for the rich, but had never thought of that as one of Obamacare repeal’s key virtues.

It turns out that repealing Obamacare is, indeed, a major tax cut, although not mostly for the “rich.” Americans For Tax Reform calculates that the House repeal bill constitutes a trillion dollar tax cut. It:

-Abolishes the Obamacare Individual Mandate Tax which hits 8 million Americans each year.

-Abolishes the Obamacare Employer Mandate Tax. Together with repeal of the Individual Mandate Tax repeal this is a $270 billion tax cut.

-Abolishes Obamacare’s Medicine Cabinet Tax which hits 20 million Americans with Health Savings Accounts and 30 million Americans with Flexible Spending Accounts. This is a $6 billion tax cut.  MORE

  1. It’s so funny when Nancy talks. I thought Obama said it wasn’t a tax?
They argued in front of the Supreme Court that it wasn’t a tax.
Thanks Justice Roberts! Magically its now a tax cut for the rich.
Please get the government out of HealthCare please!

  2. THE POINT to oppose socialism is WHY DO I HAVE TO SACRIFICE MY LIFE FOR OTHERS. Any reason can only be defined as a religious point of view (secular religion included). What is hard about this? Conservative pundits (Tucker, Hannity, Coulter, etc.) are you listening?

  3. Simple, repeal Obamacare and ban the Government at all levels from being involved in the private business of health insurance. Then set up a Go Fund Me account so that all those who want to pay for the health care costs of others who can’t or won’t purchase medical insurance can give until it bleeds, hurts or feels good!
