Dan Bongino: Earlier last year, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez settled a First Amendment lawsuit for blocking a critic on twitter. She issued an apology and unblocked the plaintiff (Dov Hikind). Prior to the lawsuit, AOC had claimed to only have 20 accounts blocked for “ongoing harassment.” We know that at least one of the twenty blocked was OANN’s Liz Wheeler, who simply corrects the illogic of AOC’s posts.
Ironically, it was thanks to a lawsuit against President Donald Trump that the precedent was set that politicians can’t block individuals on twitter.
Despite that prior incident, conservative activist Candace Owens discovered that she too was blocked by AOC on twitter. Candace immediately sent Cortez a legal notice asking to be unblocked by Monday, January 6th , otherwise AOC would be subject to an unwinnable legal battle.
